This painting is a study for a triptych now available in Liberation Gallery Brighton. Inspired by the incredible dancer and choreographer Alice Klock, this piece is the beginning of a new collection of figurative pieces that depict the beauty of dance, taking a look at the almost ritualistic nature of movement. Taking single shots from a dance video I wanted to create a bright image that created the feeling of summoning the sun or ‘light.’ I wanted the poses to be powerful and free.
